I know some people who have tried ProActive and it worked, but I also know some others who have tried it and it made it worse :( I know some who have put rubbing alchol on their skin or peroxcide to dry up the pimples. It also kills bacteria :) . Also, try going to a dermotoligist, or ask your regular doctor. Often times the regular doctor, who knows more about your med. history and whatnot can help you more than a dermatologist.
are you a vegetarian? That might have something to do with it. Its worth checking into.
Try dabbing toothpaste or honey on your zits before you go to bed - works wonders.
Overall, remember that beauty counts more on the inside than on the outside, and your true friends will love you for you, and not your skin.

Shiseido... eh~ It's supposed to be an Asian skin care line... but in the Asian community, I don't know ONE person who wears their makeup... but they use their skincare products, like their Bio-performance Night Cream... But their Make-up colors flatters very few asians, and are more directed for Western Clinentele...

Depends on how severe the acne is.
If i get a break out the shisedo (moisture mist) is really good and clears my skin up pretty quickly.
In saying that a break out to me is usually only a few pimples around my chin!

As her mother, I see the radiance her skin now has. She's also used Jan Marini's anti-aging products. Both are great and it's never too early to start caring for your skin. I'd go to AgelessApple.com and look at all their products. You can also call them and they'll give you advice. My daughter and I both get all our skincare and makeup (Jane Iredale) products there. Good luck!|||From what i heard about obagi prods, they're prescription esp for skin damage (e.g. sun-damage). One of my aunts uses them. Unless you have such concerns, I would just use "regular" non-prescription lines like shiseido (as u mentioned), clinique (in your 20's), clarins etc. Prescription prods usually very concentrated and too harsh for skin - esp after regular/prolonged use. If you don't need it, don't use it. Moreover, some ingredients in these types of prescription skin care prods make your skin more vulnerable and sensitive to the sun (and then come other problems). In your 20's, main concerns should be preventitive... like skin hydration and sun protection using more gentle prods.

nope|||I have used the pureness moisturizer cream. It's nice, but it's too light for my dry skin. It feels like water and quickly goes into your skin. If you don't have dry skin it's alright to used in the daytime.

i have seen alot of shiseido make up that i am intrested in buying but i dont know if it is any good or not , the nearest store to buy it is in london and i dont want to travel all the way up there and it be bad....if you could reccomend some products and stuff it would be great ..help if you can x|||Shiseido is an excellent brand--how it works will depend on your own chemistry. Any of the upscale brands are good--mix and match. Next time you're in London, go into a department store and ask for a couple of samples. Mercier, Chanel, Ives St. Laurent, all are fantastic, but, for example, I can only use Chanel Teint Naturel foundation. Anything else just doesn't work. It's not oil-free, but it has cleared up my skin more than anything else (goes to show the difference between high end ingredients and drug store ingredients). But for powder, Borghese is the best, in my opinion. Best to try a few different ones before buying into any single line. And don't listen to those that say 'all of the products from a line are meant to be used in conjunction with that line, they won't work without the rest of the products in that line', it's a saying used by most make-up counter salespeople, who's goal is to increase their sales. Do not buy into it. Just get a few samples from each counter and make your decision based on the effectiveness of the samples. Good luck!|||I'd get it if you are passing through - I have only ever tried the face powder - it came in a very covetable clam like shell, with a mirror, and was very fine and gave even coverage - I'd definitely reccommend that. Expiration on shiseido products?
I purchased the white lucent product line and my skin had a reaction to them so I put them in a cabinet and forgot all about them. Are they still any good if its been over a year? You should go on the internet to look up the ingredients; if they're not on the box.|||The active ingredient is arbutin, which may or may not be terribly effective in lightening skin, but so far, it is considered safe. If the ingredient was hydroquinone, you could be worried about long-term usage, but everyone's skin is different and there's only one way to find out...
You'll want to check the dictionary below with the other ingredients in the product (which I haven't been able to find a complete list of) because cosmetics often have potentially irritating ingredients.

Shop at SM Malls cosmetic centers and locate shiseido counter. I was beauty consultant to another Japanese cosmetic pias and a neighboring counter is shiseido.|||I'm pretty sure my wife has gotten this at the Green Hills Mall. I'll ask her when she gets home and try and get back to you.

My skin hasn't broken out and the foundation blends well. I think Shiseido is a good brand.|||It's very ordinary. I tried one of their lip glosses and it didn't really stick. Their eyeshadow isn't opaque nor bright enough. Their foundation looks patchy on my skin after a while like it's almost flaking. The only thing I like so far is their lash defining mascara. The formula is nothing to brag about, doesn't really volumize nor lengthens like it claims it does but the brush is small enough to easily manuever to get every lash possible without smearing the formula all over. My main pet peeve about this brand's makeup is that they don't have a variety of selections. I went over to lancome one time and there were sooo many lipsticks. I bought one from them which is a favorite to this day when I couldn't get a lipstick I used to wear from shiseido because it wasn't manufactured anymore.
Their skincare line is better in my opinion. The gentle cleasing foam instantly tranforms your face to make it smooth, soft, and freshly hydrated. I didn't know my skin could feel so good until that cleanser.

thanks|||I tried this on my dark circles for a week, and it didn't do much; just like every other brightening cream/serum. It just brightens up your face and gives you a slightly glowing complexion. You'd be better off buying a separate eye cream.
EDIT: You can use it under your lips and on the sides of your nose, but a concealer or highlighter would help the most.

And does it really work?|||Shiseido skin lighteners do work, but the best lighteners I have personally tried are by Obagi. Obagi encourages you to do the entire system, but there are a few products that are targeted to help with lightening. I am extremely fair, Caucasian, with freckles. Some of my freckles began getting dark due to sun exposure from living in a tropical climate. Obagi helped a lot. Kanebo is also very good. These are more expensive than Shiseido but they are good. If you can't find the booklet, go to a Shiseido counter and ask for help, the salespeople don't bite, they just look like they do!|||ya

Shiseido Lasting Lift Mascara or Urban Decay Cannonball Ultra Waterproof Mascara?
Both are really sweatproof, from what I've heard.
I'm going between these two, so which one of these should I get?|||I used Urban Decay Cannonball Ultra Waterproof mascara and it was great I heard drugstore Maybelline the colossal volum expresss waterproof was just as great. A good place for any Japanese products is the Isetan department store in the Central World Plaza Mall, they are a Japanese owned store and carry many Japanese products. You do see Sheseido products in many other stores too.|||Nigao probably in a Japanese product shop. You find them in or near buildings catering for Japanese. Shiseido you can get a.o. in Tops Supermarkets.|||Not sure about Nigao, but Shiseido is widely available (see link ... click EN for English).

i don't think they have one... i worked for shiseido for a while and the products come pretty rapidly so customers and pretty much always getting newly made products. you should only keep your cosmetics/skincare for 2-3 years... around 6 months for mascara

Can it cover dark circles, blemishes, not clog pores, AND last all day??|||I use Sheiseido makeup and I can say that The Makeup concealer literally disappears into skin and has a super-fine consistency. It's thin enough not to cause a serious oil slick on your face but thick enough that it covers well and feels smooth on your skin. Very natural-looking. If your dark circles are more like shadows, then you will need to use a concealer followed by foundation primer then foundation.
I would say their concealer is comparable to Lanc么me's Effacernes or MAC's Studio Fix.

Is Shiseido considered the best Japanese brand for skincare?
Not sure if it is the "best" but it is very good. I use a lot of their products and have been very happy with them.|||Shiseido is always very good and It's been around for a long time. I haven't been to Japan so I don't know what's considered the best there but In Hawaii, where I used to live and where a lot of Japanese people live, it is considered the best. My grandma and my aunties all use it and it must count for something to be a long-lasting, one-of-the-best skincare brands and not just a trend of the time.

I tried the Shu Uemura curler later on and thought it was better. Where can I buy Shiseido The Makeup Fine Eyeliner in #1 black?
All I can find online is the #2 soft black (greyish) which I don't want. I have looked online for a few days and I can't find any sites that sell it in #1 black. Some comments on the Sephora site suggest they don't sell it in the US.|||Well, I have just recently found out that Sephora might not even be carrying Shiseido in their stores (except online). And if you are using the liquid eyeliner in black, I have even more bad news. Shiseido discontinued it. It was my favorite liquid eyeliner! 1 shiseido purness cleansing fluid first.

Does anyone like Shiseido or if you like other make brands tell me which ones and why?

Where can I buy Tsubaki shampoo by Shiseido?
Does anyone know where I could purchase the shampoo around the San Francisco area? (Preferably in the city) I'm anxious to try it and I don't really want to buy it online. Also, if you could give a price range as well.|||I highly doubt that you can buy Tsubaki here in the U.S unless there happen to be Asian vendors/ supermarket such as 99 Ranch Market or Marina Ichiban-kan in your area (which I believe there are if I'm not mistaken) or a store that sells imports straight from Japan. The Tsubaki shampoo line is only sold in Japan at the time being and hasn't been marketed in the United States. Believe me, I've been searching high and low throughout many stores myself and haven't found it before I found out that it's only sold in Japanese stores. Unfortunately you will have to buy online if you really want to try it out unless, as I mention before, you can find and Asian vendor/ supermarket that sells it in your town.

What is a good foundation/powder for Asian skin besides Shiseido, Mac, or Clinique?
I'm looking for an oil-free foundation/powder for quick and easy application that comes in asian skin shades. (I am on the paler sallow colored side- with no tan at all.)
MAC has compatible colors and is easy to use, but it's getting to be too greasy for me. I have the same problem with Shiseido.
And while Clinique's quality is good, they have pink tones in all their foundations and make me look like I'm wearing a bad calamine lotion mask. Argh!

What's better; Shu Uemura or Shiseido eyelash curler?
I want to buy a good manual one, but i don't know it i should get the Shu Uemura or the Shiseido one?
Could people with experiences with both or either one of them, give me some advise?|||I used Shiseido for the longest time, but after trying out Shu Uemura's, I had to switch! Shu Uemura has a squishier pad, so I think it curls much better. And the clamp part that the eyelashes go between is more curved and longer on Shu Uemura's. That one just works so much better for me!

Thanks to anyone who helps!|||Pureness, definitely.|||hey doll I own the Pureness kit, I have mixed feelings about it. The wash foams heavenly and it cleans nicely but it leaves your skin with that "rough" feeling, the cleanser cleans the pores and I like it, the moisturizer is very "watery", since you have combination skin, I don't think it would be moisturizing enough but I like it because it leaves your skin with a matte finish. Try it the pureness kit since you have acne. it will dry out your acne. I think the moisturizing kit would add oil to your already acne prone skin. Hope I helped! good luck!
How does one use Shiseido's White freezer mask?The directions are in Japanese and I wish they were in English.
I purchased Shiseido's UV White Freezer Mask while traveling in Japan and can't understand the directions because they are all in Japanese. Would really appreciate it if someone could post step by step instructions in English. Thanks!|||Go to your local department store and read the english lable on the product sold in the US. I tried the Shiseido skin care line and it made me oily. I ultimately discovered Glytone, and now I have a brand new face!!!
I hope Shiseido works for you, I remember it smelling very nice. But if you are still having skin trouble (I'm not sure if you are having trouble), try Glytone. It's amazing. Glycolic acid will be your new best friend.

suppose i will in taiwan and stay there for good. and ever since i've been using shiseido and shu uemura beauty products. are they available over the counter in the malls of taiwan? because for me it's really convenient than ordering via internet.|||Yes, there are shiseido products on sell in Taiwan's mall and you should head to department stores like Takashimaya and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi for those products.|||checking
